Job Title and Overview
As a Mobile Café Assistant, you will be working inside of a fast paced, busy, noisy 25- foot-long food truck. Your primary focus is order taking. You will be responsible for assisting customers with placing their food and beverage orders correctly in addition to collecting payment and dispensing change accordingly. You will be asked to assist with various tasks such as toasting buns, bagging orders to be expedited at the pickup window, as well as light cleaning duties such as sweeping, sanitizing and disinfecting various contact surfaces as well as washing dishes and disposing of garbage.
Essential Job Functions
- Cashier (responsible for the cash drawer as well as handling payments, tickets & receipts).
- Assist customers with placing various food and beverage orders.
- Be able to explain the menu options in detail and answer any customer questions that may arise.
- Setup, breakdown and sanitization of the server window area inside and out including window ledge.
- Keep all service areas of the café clean, sweeping periodically if necessary.
- Thoroughly sweep the floor including under tables, cooking equipment, etc. at the end of each shift.
- Restock supplies as needed at the end of each shift.
- Collect any and all trash to be discarded at the end of each shift.
- Assist with loading the generator onto the truck at the end of the shift.
Qualifications
- Must speak English. Being bilingual is a plus!
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- ServeSafe Certified preferred but not required.
- Must be familiar with basic sanitation, safety & hand washing practices.
- Must be able to work 4-to-6-hour shifts, standing or sitting for extended periods of time.

This position is part-time. Roughly 4 days per week. Working anywhere from 4 to 6 hours per day. Maximum 8 hours per day. |

Work Requirements |
Exceptional hygiene is a must! Be punctual, reliable, dependable, self-motivated and focused. Must be able to work mid-mornings to late evenings as well as weekends. |

Work Environment |
The weather outside plays a significant role in not only the flow of business, but the actual work environment itself. Therefore, one must be able to withstand hotter than usual temperatures as well as colder than usual temperatures while working. Overall, the general work environment is very friendly, upbeat, organized and fast paced. |

Travel Requirements |
Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to and from various event locations throughout Cumberland County, North Carolina. |

Physical Requirements |
Must be able to stand, sit, bend, lift, kneel, stoop, carry and pickup objects with ease. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or more. |
Compensation and Benefits
- The rate of pay for this position is $15.00/hour.
- This is a 1099 contracted position, not a W-2 position.
- We do not offer any benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, etc.
Workplace Policies and Procedures
- Our employment contracts run annually from March to mid-December.
- Schedules are posted far enough in advance and updated electronically on a regular basis.
- A written two-week notice is required when voluntarily terminating your contracted employment.
- One company t-shirt will be issued upon hire and expected to be returned in good condition at the end of your employment. If not, the amount to replace it will be deducted from your last paycheck.
